Regularly I receive questions (actually the same question over again) from our analysts about how logon- and authorisation functions should be counted. The essence of the problem is, that in example 11.1 in the Nesma 2.2 counting guidelines an authorisation table is counted as FPA table, without making clear which of the criteria in section 5.20 is satisfied. My own motivation is usually: “We do it like this, because example 11.1 does it like this.”

Does someone have an idea how logon- and authorisation tables can be linked to the rules in a comprehensive way? It should be possible to explain this with a reference to the rules, rather than to an example.
